Their proofing was strongest where it had always lived: text. Braille and barcode sat outside it — a separate step, often a separate tool, run late and reported on their own. Every release meant assembling outputs by hand before QA sign-off, and the checks that ran in isolation were the ones most likely to let something through: a flattened Braille dot, a barcode that graded poorly at print. In a GxP environment, "checked separately" also means "validated separately" — more overhead, and more places for the review trail to fragment.
